The pump shaft on a Sea-Doo is a aprox 6" long, slender rod that is used to transfer power from the boat's engine to the jet pump. It is typically made of high-strength steel or another durable material and is designed to withstand the high forces and stresses that are generated during operation.
The Sea Doo pump shaft is located inside the jet pump housing and is connected to the engine at one end and the impeller at the other end. As the engine rotates, it turns the pump shaft, which in turn rotates the impeller. The impeller is a series of blades that are designed to draw water into the housing and then force it out through the steering nozzle, providing the thrust that propels the boat through the water.
The SeaDoo pump shaft is a critical component of the Sea Doo boat's propulsion system and is essential for the boat's performance and handling. To ensure the best performance and longevity of the pump shaft, it is important to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for maintenance and to use the boat in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines. This may include regularly lubricating the pump shaft and avoiding excessively rough or shallow water.
